BT National Apprenticeship Programme

BT NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMMEBT NATIONAL APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMMECustomer Engineering and Delivery Apprentices across the UK

BT wish to work with JCP to promote their national apprenticeship programme.  They are currently seeking to recruit Customer Engineering and Delivery Apprentices across the UK.  There are no specific locations as these will be tailored to the location of successful applicants.

BT wish to recruit  up to 100 Customer Engineering and Delivery apprentices.

The engineering apprenticeship offers clients the opportunity to be part of BT’s engineering teams delivering excellent service to their customers and end users. Being part of a Service Delivery team, apprentices will receive the technical training required to be able to maintain and install telephone and broadband services over the BT network, requiring interactions with end users in private home and business premises. There are 2 types of apprenticeships in this area, for an Advanced Apprenticeship clients must have a minimum of 4 GCSE’s A to D Grades (including English & Maths).  For a Higher Apprenticeship, clients will also need 2 A Levels at grade A-C.

About the scheme What we’re looking for Application (Baker Tilly website)
For those who are ambitious, have excellent A level grades and want to gain a professional qualification as quickly as possible, we will hand you practical accounting skills and get you ready for the workplace. Our AAT vocational programme takes approximately two years to complete, you’ll receive a competitive salary whilst you train and you’ll receive a wide range of technical and personal skills training as you progress. Studying the AAT is typically undertaken by block release and as part of your programme, you’ll undertake computer based administered projects, tests, reports and work based evidence alongside gaining practical commercial experience with us. We’ll support you throughout with our expert knowledge and vast experience to get the AAT qualification firmly under your belt.

PwC Tax Technician School & College Leaver Programme

Tax Technician school and college leaver programme:

Salary: £14k – £20k per annum (subject to area/region)

Locations: London, Birmingham, South East and Manchester

You can specialise in:

  • Corporate & Indirect Tax – focusing on Corporation Tax or VAT Compliance
  • Human Resource Consulting

You’ll learn and develop the specialist skills our clients look for and value most. This includes studying towards a professional qualification, with support from us all the way.

A position in Tax provides you with the opportunity to work within a team covering an arena which is increasingly growing ever more complex. Subject to the team you join, you could provide tax advice on; mergers and acquisitions, corporation tax, transfer pricing, treasury and finance, international structuring, indirect tax, tax compliance, workforce structuring, reward and compensation frameworks, expatriate tax and international mobility. Clients include global players, FTSE 100 companies and middle market organisations. As part of the School and College Leaver programme you’ll undertake a self directed learning programme involving; professional qualifications, gaining knowledge of the industry and market, technical skills, self development & awareness and leadership skills.

How you’ll develop

You’ll enjoy plenty of practical, on-the-job training while studying for a professional qualification with the Association of Tax Technicians (ATT). This usually takes around two years. We’ll give you study leave to go to college plus plenty of support, but you’ll need to study in your own time too. The hard work will be worth it though when you pick up your qualification. And the great thing is, by the time you complete your exams, you’ll have lots of valuable experience to build on. Do well and you could go on to take your CTA exams in your fourth year and become a Chartered Tax Adviser.

At the same, time, whichever area you work in, you’ll enjoy plenty of interaction with clients – from multinationals to ambitious start-ups across a wide range of industry sectors – in meetings and over the phone. You’ll support busy client teams by advising businesses on tax issues, and doing anything from technical research to drafting correspondence to going with senior colleagues to meetings. And you’ll get a solid grounding in your specialism plus regular training and updates to boost your development. Gradually you’ll take on your own portfolio of clients as you progress.

What you need

This technically focused programme is open to you if:

  • you’re leaving school with at least a 240 UCAS tariff OR
  • you’ve finished your degree but haven’t quite met the criteria for our graduate programme; or you’ve already started your career but you’re looking for a change of direction.

Yorkshire Water’s 2012 Apprentice Recruitment campaign has now commenced. They are currently recruiting for apprentice roles in Customer Service & Networks and Innovation & Delivery. They will also shortly be introducing further apprentice roles in their Production Business Unit. The Production Business Unit is all about operating and controlling the business as one single production unit. The business unit is responsible for our above ground assets which includes bringing together our 32 water and 18 ‘Shining Star’ waste water treatment works. The business unit will develop and introduce new innovations, technologies and asset management techniques so that we get the best from our production assets.

Please note: These new roles will be available for you to apply for from Monday 18th June.
